Where do I get on the boat?

How much does it cost?

 

All trips are free of charge as WABC is a charity but if you would like to make a donation after you have enjoyed the trip it would be most welcome. 

 

How many people can come onboard?

 

Maximum numbers are 6 – dependent on the weight of passengers and any wheelchairs.  

 

Can I bring my dog?

 

Well behaved Assistance dogs are very welcome. 

 

Are there toilet facilities nearby (disabled)?

 

Benson Marina Café has toilet facilities including disabled. 

 

Do you cancel due to weather conditions - how?

 

The skipper will contact you the day of the trip if for some reason we need to cancel (usually extreme water or weather conditions).

 

Is there parking (disabled) nearby - cost?

 

Disabled parking is available at the marina or road parking locally St. Helens Avenue, Benson – 5 mins walk away.

 

Can I use my wheelchair - manual/electric/scooter etc?

 

Electric or manual wheelchairs are most definitely welcome on-board, please let us know the weight. Sadly we cannot accommodate mobility scooters.  

 

Is there shade on-board/rain cover?

 

There is a cover on the boat which gives shade and would keep off a light shower .

 

How long is the trip?

 

As long as you want to be out on the water up to 2 hours – you can chat to crew and turn back at any stage of the trip. 

 

Is there help to get on-board?

 

We have 2 crew aboard and a shoreside crew member who can help you get on-board safely. 

 

What do I need to bring with me?

 

Anything you might need while on board – snack, water, hat, sun cream, waterproof, camera, medication, etc.   

 

Do we have to wear lifejackets?

 

Lifejackets are mandatory for everyone on board including dogs, we supply these and help you fit the life jacket correctly.
